FIANZ re-Branding
Client: The Federation of Islamic Association of New Zealand (FIANZ)
Background:
FIANZ new identity is an inspiration from Islamic Architecture, Archeology, Geometry, Arabic Calligraphy and Stone. There are couple of reasons behind choosing these elements for my Inspiration. Since FIANZ is an Islamic Organisation and Federation which represent Muslim community in New Zealand it needs to reflect this in it’s identity.
Islamic Architecture and Archeology has always inspired people either Muslims or Non-Muslims due to its unique styling, beautiful attractive geometrical patterns, uniformity, neatness, equality and cohesion. Islamic calligraphy is the artistic practice of handwriting and calligraphy, which shares a common Islamic cultural heritage. I have used the Kufi Arabic Calligraphy style for the construction of New FIANZ Identity. I also took inspiration from a heavy bolder which represent strength.
The tilted brand icon gives the feeling of moving forward. Silver Fern in the logo represents the unique “Aotearoa culture” and Kiwi Muslims. We have used Green, Turquoise, Blue and Grey colors. These colors are more Islamic and refreshing to eyes. Combination of these colors will make the identity attractive and eye-catching. Collectively this all gives the identity an Islamic but a smart and modern look.
